Thursday evening… facebook clicking… are you coming… Ottom Bottom & BordeRi crew… I didn’t think about coming… going to competition and not be able to ride it… it’s not fun… but than remorse… everybody will be up there… “svi su gore”… and me not… no way, I have to think about way how to come… Immediately I posted status, who is going… and soon phone rang… Fran called me… are you going with us, I still have two places left… Yes, in half an hour Petar and me decided to go… plans changed, two more people jumped in, Ivorin – “sucker of the week” and Luka… It looked like we will have lots of fun!

Saturday morning after 9am guys picked us up in front of our house, around noon we were on “HomeMountain” freezing to death trying to set up our boards and bindings. Wind was blowing, sun was shining, but it seemed like we are going to freak out of being cold.

Already on a parking place we could hear the speaker and the music, competition was on. First we missed it, in my memories park was still left through the woods, but for a long it is not there anymore so we had to get back on the main slope, next to the ski lift. And than baaaam… so many competitiors, first time on any of Croatian competition I saw so many people, more than 30 people was waiting in the line to make their runs, first on the obstacles, second on the kickers… both runs combine… and in the finals each had two runs on obstacles, two on kickers… so we got the winners… First place deserved the one who had whole day amazing runs, Chad – Nikola Vrhovec. In a finals he made fs blunt 270-out on the rail, than half-cab on the up box i bs1 out.. Vid made 50-50 bs3 out of the rail and fs270in and 270out on the straight box.. Duk won third place with 50-50 bs1 out of the rail, than half-cab in bs1 out on the straight box. On kicker Chad made fs3 melon, Vid bs3 indy and Duk bs5.

For the first time in history of “HomeMountain” we had long prepared freeriding competition organized by www.otombottomstuff.co.cc and www.bordeRI.com … This competition was reserved only for the bravest ones, which needed to fill out some special requirements, be over 25, have brain in their heads and have all protectors. In a short time we had winners… It was a time to clean up everything and to prepare for prize giving ceremony in mountain house… Girls, boys, slopestyle, freeride… lots of winners in different categories…

After 6pm afterparty starded… same place where we all stayed for a sleep… pole dancing, dirty dance and night to be remembered… in midnight we all had feeling it is 5am, we were all tired from nice successful day, frozen, than exhausted from couple of hours dancing… and slowly one by one we tried to get some sleep, but soon we lost hope… in room for 18 people we had at least 30 people, all ages, screaming, singing, dancing, sleeping on the floor, smoking… It wasn’t some nice atmosphere, but it was kind of waking up old memories from high school excursion LOL… At 7 all woke up… it was a time for another day on the mountain, this time without the wind and with lots of sun, but low temperatures… Ski resort was frozen, and I could call it skating, not skiing slope… but park was great, left from yesterday’s competition, down rail 6m, kicker 4-5m, two boxes, straight 4m and down box, and on the end up box 6m.

Petar and me went for the walk up to the hill to worm up a bit and than, slowly over the ice on our boards down to join everybody in the park, a bit of hiking, jibbing and photographing and time passed too fast, it was a time to say goodbye to everybody, but only for the short, because next competition “Gillette Carnival snowboard session” is waiting for us next weekend in Rijeka (Korzo) in front of Rijeka’s famous clock… center of the town, just couple of meters to the coast and sea… See ya there on 30^th of Jan, next weekend… www.carnivalsnowboardsession.com
