April 18, 2009 - Longboard Classic / Stuben am Arlberg
The list of snowboard legends that are going to join the 10th anniversary of the Longboard Classic in Stuben sounds unbelievable! After a long time Terry Kidwell, Shawn Farmer, Bob Klein, Chuck Barfoot and Mike Basich from the US will meet their former European colleagues Reto Lamm, Martin Freinademetz, Jose Fernandez, Oliver Holzmann, Micki Früh, Titus Dittmann and more than 30 other legends in the snowboard circus.
If this is music to your ears you are a legend yourself because you have been closely connected to snowboarding for a long time already!
Stuben was blessed with snow this winter and they have 1.65m in the valley and even 3.65m on the mountain beginning of April - no need to worry about the race! The winner of last year, Ralph Castelberg arrives from Spain 1,200 km away to defend his title. The odds are in favour for the Swiss because he already won the crown four times!
A test pool of boards from Dupraz, LTB, Rad-Air, Pogo, Völkl, Fanatic, Arbor and Nitro is available for free for everyone.
LBC Warm Up is already on April 16 at 20.00 h with a concert of the bands “Hunk of Metal” and “Muha” in the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich (CH).
On Friday, April 17 everyone is going to the Mondschein Bar at 22.00h. On Saturday the event program is in full play with registration, race, lunch, chilling, concert of „Muha” and „Hunk of Metal” (the band of Shawn Farmer and Terry Kidwell), the prize giving ceremony, the Longboard Classic Movie Night and the LBC Party as the icing on the cake - an this one is legendary!
