Even it is still summer preparations for the Burton European Open Snowboarding Championships (BEO) have already begun. A few circus caravans have been spotted on their way to the Swiss Alps to celebrate the 11th edition of the event from Jan. 9 – 16, 2010. More than 400 riders from across the world will gather in Laax (SUI) for the second event of the Burton Global Open Series 09/10. After a big birthday party at last year’s 10th anniversary of the event, the 11th edition will be themed “Circus” to highlight the fun and bravery of the sport. Be prepared for a big circus show and event venues in a completely new look. Amateurs from around the globe get the chance to challenge the world’s top pro riders or “artistes”. All of them will try to perform some magic and dazzle spectators with their bag of tricks and wow them with their performances in the slopestyle and halfpipe competitions. The halfpipe event will be one to watch in particular as it is the last big pre-Olympic pipe event in Europe.

The best riders of the second stop of the Burton Global Open Series and 6Star TTR event will grab a piece of the US$ 125.000 prize purse as well as key ranking points for both the TTR as well as the BGOS ranking.

Circus director, clowns, jugglers, and many other artistes are looking forward to welcoming you at the BEO 2010 in Laax! Mark the date in your calendar and be prepared for this snowboarding extravaganza.
